And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions [that were] under the first testament, they who are called may receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for by whom a man is overcome, by the same is he brought into bondage.
And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as [they were] from the beginning of the creation.
Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, in which dwelleth righteousness.
And now I stand, and am judged for the hope of the promise made by God to our fathers:
Therefore [it is] of faith, that [it might be] by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed, not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all;
Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises [made] to the fathers:
So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:
And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.
For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he swore by himself,
For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye may receive the promise.
And they rose early in the morning, and ascended to the top of the mountain, saying, Lo, we [are here], and will go up to the place which the LORD hath promised: for we have sinned.
For the LORD thy God shall bless thee, as he promised thee: and thou shalt lend to many nations, but thou shalt not borrow; and thou shalt reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over thee.
One man of you shall chase a thousand: for the LORD your God, he [it is] that fighteth for you, as he hath promised you.

Yet the LORD would not destroy the house of David, because of the covenant that he had made with David, and as he promised to give a light to him and to his sons for ever.
Also I shook my lap, and said, So God shake out every man from his house, and from his labor, that performeth not this promise, even thus be he shaken out, and emptied. And all the congregation said, Amen, and praised the LORD. And the people did according to this promise.
And gavest them bread from heaven for their hunger, and broughtest forth water for them out of the rock for their thirst, and promisedst them that they should go in to possess the land which thou hadst sworn to give them.
And Mordecai told him all that had happened to him, and of the sum of the money that Haman had promised to pay to the king's treasuries for the Jews, to destroy them.
For thus saith the LORD; As I have brought all this great evil upon this people, so will I bring upon them all the good that I have promised them.
Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.
